DF-2
DF 2 | Date:1966–80 | Prod.:~100 | Mass:32 Tons | Dim:20.6m X 1.65cm | Type:Fission | Yield:10-15kt |
China's first medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) based on Soviet the R-5 Pobeda (SS-3 Shyster). A single-stage liquid-fueled missile, four fins at the base, and a 1,500 kg warhead. The original had a range of 1,050 km, the improved DF-2A had a range of 1,250 km. Tested 27/10/1966 above Lop Nor. The use of liquid oxygen prevented the missile from being kept stored fully fueled for long periods.

DF-3
DF 3 | Date:1971–2014 | Prod.:~100 | Mass:32 Tons | Dim:20.6m X 1.65cm | Type:Fission | Yield:10-15kt |
Single-stage liquid-fueled intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM). Influenced by the Soviet R-14 Chusovaya missile. The first stage engine was a direct copy of the С.2.1100/С.2.1150 La-350 booster engine developed by Aleksei Isaev at OKB-2. Designed with a 2,500km range and a 2,000kg atomic and later thermonuclear warhead. An improved DF-3A had a 3,000km range. Initially fission then a thermonuclear warhead.

DF-4
DF 4 | Date:1976–2023 | Prod.:~4 | Mass:82 Tons | Dim:28m X 2.25m | Type:TN | Yield:3Mt |
Two-stage, liquid-fuelled intermediate-range to intercontinental ballistic missile (IRBM/ICBM). Uses an astro-inertial guidance system, resulting in a large CEP of 1,500 meters. Primarily housed in underground silos, caves, or mountain tunnels requiring roughly two hours of external fueling prior to launch.

DF-5
DF 5 | Date:1976–2023 | Prod.:~4 | Mass:183 Tons | Dim:32.6m X 3.3m | Type:TN | Yield:3-4Mt |
Silo-launched, two-stage liquid-fueled ICBM. A heavyweight pillar of China's strategic nuclear deterrent. Fueling requires 30 to 60 minutes leaving the silos temporarily vulnerable. While newer missiles (like the DF-41) utilise solid fuel for faster launch times, the DF-5 family remains in service due to its massive payload capacity and continuous modern upgrades. The DF-5C has a range of ~20,000km able to carry up to 10 MIRVs.

DF-11
DF 11 | Date:1992–Now | Prod.:>600 | Mass:3.8 Tons | Dim:8.5m X 0.8m | Type: □ | Yield: 2-20kt |
Road-mobile, solid-fuel short-range ballistic missile (SRBM). Single-stage solid propellant, launch time around 15 to 30 minutes. Carried on an 8x8 wheeled Transport-Erector-Launcher (TEL) vehicle. Payload 500-800kg range 280-600km, astro-inertial guidance including ring-laser gyroscope and Beidou satellite guidance. CEP 20-100m (DF-11AZT).

DF-15
DF 15 | Date:1990–Now | Prod.:>355 | Mass:6.2 Tons | Dim:9.1m X 1m | Type:TN | Yield:50-350kt |
Road-mobile, single-stage, solid-fueled short-range ballistic missile (SRBM). Vertically launched from an eight-wheeled transporter erector launcher (TEL), launch preparation time 30 minutes. After the body and warhead separate, the body trails behind to camouflage the warhead. Terminal velocity of the missile is over Mach 6, payload 500–750kg, range 600km, CEP 300m.

DF-17
DF 17 | Date:1919–Now | Prod.: □ | Mass:15 Tons | Dim: □ | Type: □ | Yield: □ |
Solid-fueled, road-mobile medium-range ballistic missile designed to carry the DF-ZF hypersonic glide vehicle. The booster lifts the hypersonic glide vehicle into the upper atmosphere, where it releases and flies a non-ballistic, low-altitude trajectory capable of sharp aerodynamic manoeuvrers. Speed Mach 5-10, range 1,800-2,500km.

DF-31
DF 31 | Date:2006–Now | Prod.:~15 | Mass:54 Tons | Dim:21.6m X 2.37 | Type:TN | Yield:90-425kt |
Third-generation three stage long-range, road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Launched via Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) and hardened silo variants. Range: DF-31 - 7,200-8,000km, DF-31A - 1,270–13,200 km (Europe, Asia, U.S.). Single 425-kiloton thermonuclear weapon or MIRV configurations carrying 3-5 90kt warheads with penetration aids/decoys.

DF-41
DF 31 | Date:2017–Now | Prod.: □ | Mass:80 Tons | Dim:22m X 2.25 | Type:TN | Yield:90-1Mt |
Fourth-generation, solid-fueled road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Top speed Mach 25, capable of MIRV delivery (up to 10). Range 12,000-15,000km allowing it to strike targets globally. CEP: 100m for silo launched and 150–300m for TEL-launched.

JL-1
JL-1 | Date:2025–Now | Prod.: □ | Mass: □ Tons | Dim: □ | Type: □ | Yield: □ |
Nuclear-capable air-launched ballistic missile (ALBM), air-launched derivative of the land-based DF-21 MRBM. Two-stage solid-propellant rocket, range 3,000-5,500km. Acts as a stand-off weapon completing the airborne leg of China's nuclear deterrent

JL-2
JL-2 | Date:2012–Now | Prod.: □ | Mass:42 Tons | Dim:13m | Type: □ | Yield:10kt-1Mt |
Three-stage solid-fueled, second-generation intercontinental-range submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). Guidance System: Inertial with stellar updates and GPS/BeiDou integration. Range 7,200-9,000km. Warhead: 1 MT, or 3-8 20/90/150 kT MIRV warheads.

JL-2 | Date:1995–Now | Prod.: □ | Mass: □ | Dim: □ | Type: □ | Yield: □ |
Solid-fuelled, road-mobile short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) deployed from a wheeled Transport-Erector-Launcher (TEL) vehicle. Flies a flattened, low-altitude trajectory, with aerodynamic control surfaces allowing it to manoeuvrer mid-flight, heavily complicating interception by enemy anti-missile shields. Baseline CEP roughly 150m, upgraded versions incorporating GPS narrow accuracy down to under 30m.
