This directly affects me and tens of thousands of others who live within the (now greatly enlarged) congestion/CO2 charge zone and own larger cars.
We have no choice but to pay the charge as we already live within the zone. Red Ken's tax rise, and complete removal of the resident discount for larger cars, means our tax will rise from £190 per year to £6625 per year, a rise which is unprecedented in British history.
Livingstone is acting like a rabid dog; in less tolerant countries, with a tradition of more "direct" action when dealing with unpopular politicians, someone would have already put this creature down by now.
One can only hope that Porsche, represented by the not inconsiderable talents of blue blooded City law firm law Slaughter & May, will see this through all the way to the European Court.

A basic knowledge of biology should impart the fact that Carbon Dioxide, CO2, is a fundamental molecule, essential for all life on earth. Plants and marine life absorb this gas and produce Oxygen as byproduct of the metabolic process, which in turn is of course fundamental for all non-plant life on land and in the sea. Therefore, in no sense, is CO2 "noxious" or injurious to health and longevity in any conceivable way.

In any case, the Conservatives have just unseated the Looney Red/Green Livingstone in the London Mayoral elections and they have promised to scrap his insane Class War based tax.
So it looks Porsche can drop their challenge and I wont have to sell my Lexus.
