Since I was a duck and cover driller in the early 50's I guess I date myself but was totally facinated by what what was going on in the Pacific not a little apprehensive with OP Chromedome and Barksdale AFB just down the road. First we did Bravo then Krushev pulled his Tsar Bomba stunt I guess there was a little pyro in me - sublimated to healthier things I hope . I was dismayed to read in another post that the atomic vets website was down. I had a favorite story written by the man whose father was in charge of the Dewars for the Mike test. This one was actually nicknamed Sleet Sue. As there were several no one knew which one would actually be used but the article was very entertaining, philosophical, and almost literary quality. It was published in the Wetokian and I sure hope they get it back up and running ; I would like to link it. Well long time lurker first time poster, looking forward to more as this subject interests me to no end.
