Yes, it is very interest for me too. Soviet made many films, video and photos of nuclear tests, every explosion was recorded, but today in Russia it has a status of top secret or just secret. Sad Evil or Very Mad

Small footage in nice quality of unknown USSR test in Simipalatinsk. Made in spring or autumn time.

    N 18 - 30/10/1954 - Semipalatinsk - (Tower 55m) - 10 kt?

Some quickie restoration of mine, during my lunch:

It's just a quick run. I didn't have much time during a break.

I can work on it more, later.

It appears to have been an early-morning test, noted from the low angle solar illumination at the far left side. The sky above was still relatively dark.

Nice improvement for a quick fix. There was a 40kt shot December 14 1956 plus the shot shows great similarity to Totsk, another 40kt shot.

My point view it's not the 40 kt test, because that one was conducted on 1965 m. Correct will be a test № 31, 270 m high, 38 kt yield.

p.s. In december, fields covered by snow in Semipalatinsk, but here we don't see any snow.
