Old forum members will doubtless remember it was me who discovered this 45 minute German documentary originally shown on German TV in 1995 which contains the largest amount of footage from the original Soviet 17 minute film of the Tsar Bomba test ever shown on telly. Available as a "bootleg" DVD copy from the original TV prog from the Laka Foundation in Belgium.

Assuming there is no need to worry about the copyright police on this ridiculously obscure TV prog, an MPEG 2 or 4 version is available to anybody who can tell me how to convert it into one from the original DVD copy that I have......

Looking forward to a deluge of replies....

Nah. Just a VHS copy of the documentary shown on German TV in 1995 and transcribed to DVD. All in German. But the footage is there....

Out of my realm of knowledge, but interested in the footage for sure. Good luck with that.

The Laker copy is German language only, I was hoping for an english language version or one with subs.

    Hrumph!
Subs are not that difficult from create from an engineering point of view. But it is labourious in the extreme and needless to say, requires fluency in the required language. If we have a German speaker willing to take the job on I would be willing to reward them. A Russian speaker would be required for another project I have in mind.

Err...a "non-subtitled" version would be the same as the original, would it not?

    Of course, fastfission. LOL.

Is it alright now? I'm excited for it. And what channel produced it?

Just share the VOB file for me. LOL. I can convert it, but I cannot afford to upload it.

Here is a link to the films:

http://www.laka.org/video/start.html. The website has a english translation button on their main page, and there are other videos about nuclear testing, etc. I am going to look into obtaining some of these films.
