Good to know we're all such geeky nuke-spotters. 
I always wondered how they pulled off those tricks when there weren't any cgis. You have a link on the blending-thing, Canopus?
"Next" with Nicolas Cage seemed to have pretty decent nuke-sfx in its trailer. I finished watching the whole movie on youtube a minute ago and the actual bomb-sequence is quite lame. Guess they cut most of it from the movie.  |

Hmm. Only ships in the US...
I remembered Heroes, they used the Grable explosion... In South Park season 10, Cartoon Wars too I think. A cartoonised version.
There's also the 24 season 1 bomb, which is the Licorne test. |
