In 1945, dummy bombs called "Pumpkins" were released during top-secret tests over the southwestern United States as practice for dropping the first atomic bombs. This rare color footage shows a B-29 crew releasing bombs over a bullseye plowed into the arid desert floor at a remote field near the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico.
