I think the mystery is an optical illusion because the view is zoomed and the gunship is not hovering but moving from left to right. It looks that the chopper or plane is aprox half a mile away so when he fired the rounds it took some portion of time for them to get to their target and the gunship traveled some distance to the right so the rounds come from the left.
