      Titan ICBM  Popular
    Description:
    The Titan I was a US first generation ICBM using at 2-stage rocket powered by kerosene and liquid oxygen. It carried a 3800kg 9MT W-53 warhead and had a range of 8,850km. The missiles had to be fueled before launch, a a dangerous process requiring 30 minutes. Titan II introduced the use of a non-cryogenic hypergolic fuel, though this had problems too. The missile went through a total of 6 modifications with payloads varying from a single 18-25MT, to ten MIRV warheads each with a 800kt yield. Launched from 39m deep solo by a black powder charged piston with the main engine firing tens of meters above ground, damage to the launch tube was prevented enabling a rapid reloading and secondary launch.

      BGM-109 Tomahawk  Popular

    The BGM-109 Tomahawk is a submarine or ship-launched cruise missile. After launch, a solid propellant burns for 12 seconds clearing the launch area. The missile then deploys fins and small wings, and engages a small turbofan engine takes over for the cruise portion of flight.
