      Vickers VC-10 Take-off

    The VC10 was originally conceved in 1962 as an airliner, but was inducted into the RAF as an aerial refueling and transport platform. With 4 Rolls-Royce Conway engines in pairs at the back it was regarded as being quiet and comfortable. BOAC was keen to trumpet this, describing it as "swift, silent, serene".
