Gemini Missions

Project Gemini was NASA's second human spaceflight program, with 10 manned flights between 1965 and 1966. Its objective was to develop techniques for advanced space travel, notably those necessary for Project Apollo, whose objective was to land humans on the Moon. Atlas Launch Mishap 1959

Footage of the failed launch of an Atlas D prototype, April 14, 1959. A hold-down arm securing the missile to the launch pad fails to release cleanly, damaging the base of the vehicle and causing it to tilt on lift-off. The rocket makes a surprisingly valiant attempt to keep flying, but fate catches up with it in a spectacular manner.

The Hindenburg Disaster
Description:

LZ 129 Hindenburg was a German zeppelin, one of the largest aircraft ever built. 06/05/37 it was destroyed by fire while landing at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey, USA. Thirty-six people died in the accident, the cause of the accident was never determined though theories abound.
