Vickers VC-10 Take-off
Description:

The VC10 was originally conceved in 1962 as an airliner, but was inducted into the RAF as an aerial refueling and transport platform. With 4 Rolls-Royce Conway engines in pairs at the back it was regarded as being quiet and comfortable. BOAC was keen to trumpet this, describing it as "swift, silent, serene". I've heard one taking off and it nearly deafened me from over 1km away.

A Navy CH-46 Sea Knight's aft engine bursts into flames on takeoff filling the fuselage with flames and smoke. The accident happened during Operation Urban Warrior off the Monteray coast in September 1998 aboard the amphibious assault ship Bonhomme Richard. A leaking transmission line was spraying fluid into the aft generator causing the fire.
